A few years ago I began a journey toward healthy living. Though a few years ago I would not have said I was unhealthy. The more I understood about health and nutrition the more I realized that what I thought was healthy was actually very far from it. Healthy Homesteading is a blog that will follow my family’s journey toward healthy living. Healthy living is more than just about eating right and exercising. It’s about your whole body healthy, including mind and spirit.
The blog is not intended to advise but through my learning process I hope I can help others. I also hope that I will be able to learn from my readers and blogging community as well.
A little about myself..
I have been married for almost 20 years (in 2011) to a great man that puts up with all my “new ideas”( this blog being one of them). My husband and I have 3 children. One just graduated high school this year , one entering high school and one starting Kindergarten. All three of my children have been homeschooled and though it can be difficult at times I would not change the time I get to spend with my kids at home.
I love nature. My mother could tell you stories of me and all the critters I would be so curious about. So naturally I discovered that I love to garden. I have only had a garden for a few years now and the satisfaction I get from harvesting food that I have grown is not easily matched.
We live on a two and half acre lot in the mountains of Southern California. We currently have 42 chickens, one Turkey, two goats, two dogs, two cats, two horses, a Cockatiel and a Rubber Boa Snake. Horses are my true passion when it comes to the critters. I have been an equestrian for over twenty years and feel very blessed to own two great horses.
God has been very good to me and my family and I am so very thankful for that. Without Him I would most likely be in a very different place and not a good place. The character of God is so very loving , true and right. His sacrifice for us, His pursuing us, His forgiving us is never failing and never ending. Never stop seeking the true character of God. He will reveal himself to you if you are truly seeking. Christ’s sacrifice was for all of us.
